This category includes all problems that show an unstable behavior in the sense that small perturbations lead to large changes in the solution as they are not damped out over time. For numerical reasons it is interesting to keep track of instabilities in process models. As small changes in inputs lead to large changes in outputs, challenges for optimization methods arise.
